Deutsche Tage (German Days)

One of St. Paul’s longest-running ethnic festivals, the family-friendly event takes place on the grounds of the Germanic-American Institute. The event features authentic German and European food fare, Paulaner beer, music and traditional dance and fun for the whole family. Proceeds from the event help the Germanic-American Institute raise the necessary funds to support it’s cultural and language education programming all year long.
Admission is free. Adults 21 and over may buy a $10 wristbands for beer and wine purchase with valid ID. No pets allowed, but service animals are always welcome.

The GAI welcomes the Bavarian Musikmeisters, River’s Ballet, Minnesänger, The Narren of New Ulm, B+ Brass Band, Tim O’Keefe and Hristo Alexiev, and The Squeezettes!

Driving to Deutsche Tage and parking details
Free parking is available on the streets surrounding the GAI, as well as in LOT C at Saint Paul College. Handicap parking spots are reserved in front of the GAI Haus.
Parking Updates
Note: The No Kings – Twin Cities rally is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM CT, with the gathering beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Paul College. Participants will then march to the Minnesota State Capitol for the main rally.
For parking at St. Paul College, the GAI has reserved Lot C, located off Marshall Avenue. Please note that parking may be limited during the rally hours, so it’s advisable to plan accordingly. Police will close Kellogg and John Ireland Boulevards once the march begins around 12:00–12:30 PM. Traffic will be redirected, and vehicle access to campus will be very limited during this time.

or Western → Dayton → Louis → Marshall
Additionally, street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhoods around the GAI; however, be sure to observe all local parking restrictions to avoid fines. Consider carpooling or using public transit to ensure a smooth experience.
Road closures
10 p.m. Fri, June 13 through 5 a.m. Mon, June 16. I-94 is closed in both directions between I-35W and Huron Blvd.
