Russia and Ukraine: A Year of War Crimes and Genocide
Speakers examine the atrocities perpetrated in Ukraine since Russia’s invasion on February 24, 2022 and efforts nationally and internationally to prosecute these crimes. Nina Thueson will share her family’s remarkable story; her grandmother survived the Holodomor, Stalin’s genocide of Ukrainians in 1932 to 1933, and a decade later she was persecuted under the Nazi regime.
The talk also includes information from Prof. Michael Bazyler about his program that brings Ukrainians safely to the U.S. through a modern version of Holocaust-era ‘kindertransports.’
Registration is required by 6 p.m. on February 23, 2023
