About Andrew Lawrence Schiff
Andrew is the chef and owner of Oak&Fig Baking. A life-long baker, Andrew took a 25-year detour as a fashion designer before returning to his roots and his true passion. Andrew worked through college as a pastry chef and line cook in Los Angeles, before being based in New York and later Minneapolis. His career sent him around the world for inspiration and is where he honed his palette and passion for authentic, unusual flavors and ingredients.
Oak&Fig was born after a major life shift away from corporate life and a relocation to his hometown of Oakland, CA. In 2021, Andrew heeded a call him back to the midwest to work at renowned Minneapolis bakery Patisserie 46. Oak&Fig was reborn a year later. Andrew’s cakes and desserts are built with the detailed eye of an artist and inspired by a lifetime of world travel.
