The Holocaust & Kristallnacht

Sunday, November 16, 2025
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

People of all backgrounds and faiths are warmly invited to this program of memorialization and hope hosted by World Without Genocide.

Kristallnacht, or The Night of Broken Glass, were pogroms, or riots, on November 9 and 10, 1938 in Germany and Austria. Thousands of synagogues were burned to the ground, Jewish businesses were destroyed, and 30,000 Jewish men were rounded up and incarcerated in concentration camps.

The violence ultimately led to the murder of 6 million Jews and millions of other innocent people.

This special program commemorates those who perished and recognizes people who stood up against tyranny during the Holocaust. This event includes a talk about the persecution of musicians under the Nazi regime, a performance of music composed by Holocaust victims, an exhibit of international leaders for human rights, and a play about two young women in World War II Germany and the difference between complicity and standing up for human rights at that time. Rabbi Adam Stock Spilker, Senior Rabbi, Mount Zion Temple, will give a special memorial tribute in remembrance of Kristallnacht.
