Presentation at 11 a.m: Gary Heyn, Guest Author
Join us for a special presentation and book reading with guest author Gary Heyn. Gary will share a short reading from his book, Standing at the Grave, followed by a talk about how he researched and developed this powerful story tracing his family’s journey from the Grand Duchy of Posen to the prairies of North Dakota and Southeastern Minnesota.
Published in 2023, with a German edition, Das Grab in der Ferne: Von der Provinz Posen in die Neue Welt, released in 2025, the book highlights the migration of German farm families to the American Midwest.
Gary serves as treasurer of the Germanic Genealogical Society and the International German Genealogical Partnership, and is widely known for his work researching families from the former Prussian province of Posen.
All are welcome to this engaging presentation of history and heritage.
