In the summer of 1990, after the fall of the Berlin Wall but before official reunification, an unlikely group of East Germans stumbles upon hidden millions in an underground government vault. With only days before their stash of Ostmarks becomes worthless, they embark on a madcap race against time to outwit rivals and turn fading currency into something real. Inspired by a true story, director Natja Brunckhorst transforms this absurd historical moment into a lively, light-hearted heist comedy filled with political wit and sharp social observation.
